The base unit of scoring is at the skill building session for an individual.
There are three types of scores.
- Learner score
- Coach score
- Rollup scores - Team /Category / Group
(Note: Role configuration allows different combinations of who a Learner or Coach is. For more information on Role Settings click here.)
Learner Score
In any session, members are scored based on two activities which are content and activity. (the top two circles) These two scores are added together then divided by two.
Content score
Learners must complete the scheduled content. An individual score will either be 0 or 100.
In the above example, the video has been fully watched by the Joseph Davis, thereby he scored 100.
Content = Sum of watched sessions score / Total number of sessions
Content = 100/1 = 100
Note: Content means viewing 98% of the video length - where content is a video.
Activity score
The score represents a percentage of possible activities completed for a session.
Activity can be either an Exercise or Exam.
One activity equals 100. Where multiple exercises exist in one session those multiples are averaged.
Exams are marked at 100 on completion of the exam. Before completion the score is 0. Exam correctness does not factor into this score.
In the above example, Joseph Davis has completed the field exercise, thereby, he scored 100.
Activity = Sum of activity score /Total number of sessions
Activity = 100/1 = 100
Other examples:
If a session has 4 exercises and the user completed only 2 of them the activity score calculated as below.
Activity = (2/4)*100 = 50
If a session has 10 exam questions, until the user completes all the questions the activity score is calculated as zero.
Note: Bones exercises are excluded from the discipline score.
Discipline score
Discipline score of a learner is calculated based content watched and activity completed.
Discipline score of member = (content score + activity score) / 2
In the above example, Joseph Davis watched all the sessions and completed all the activities, thereby, he scored 100.
= (100+100) / 2 = 100.
The final discipline score is rounded up or down. Sub-scores are rounded for display but they are calculated accurately.
Coach score
Coaches (or Team Leaders) have two scoring metrics based on coaching comments and learner participation. Activity coached and Coached vs Potential.
Note: Depending on the Role Settings configuration, a Coach may also be required to complete some or all of the Learner score components.
Activity Coached
A coach is required to coach the answered exercises (represented in the Activity score). The activity coached score represents how many completed exercises the coach has coached.
In this example, one exercise was completed byJoseph Davis and it was coached by David Smith. Therefore, the score for activity coached is 100% (one out of one is completed).
Activity coached= Activity coached/Total number of activities completed x 100
Activity = (1/1)*100 = 100
Coached vs Potential
The coached vs potential score represents how many exercises the coach has coached of the total possible exercises that were able to be completed.
In the example, 2 field exercises were possible to be completed but only one was completed by a learner. The coach did coach the one that was completed but did not coach the second one because it was not complete.
Therefore, the score is 50% (one out of two).
Coached vs potential= Activity coached/total number of assigned activities in all sessions(regardless of completion) x 100
Activity = (1/2)*100 = 50
Discipline score
Discipline score of coach = (content score + activity score) / 2
In the above example, David Smith watched coached all possible activity, but there was only 50% of possible activity completed therefore, he scored 75.
= (100+50) / 2 = 75.
The final discipline score is rounded up or down. Sub-scores are rounded for display but they are calculated accurately.
Note: It is possible for a coach to be a learner too. In that scenario the coach and learner scores are combined.
Rollup scores - Team /Category / Group
Each Discipline score (either Learner or Coach) is calculated at an individual level.
For rolling that score up - to whatever level - Team, Category or Group...
Each individual score is added up then divided by the number of individuals in that grouping.
In the above example, all four individual scores will be added up then divided by the number of people to show a team score of 75.
= (100+75+75+50) / 4 = 75.
